EGL 2413 American Literature I

Three hours

This course introduces the student to major and minor American writers from colonial times through the end of the Civil War (e.g. Winthrop, Emerson, Dickinson, Poe, Hawthorne, Whitman, Douglass). Students will be introduced to writing and research strategies regarding literary analysis.

Prerequisite: EGL 1023 (or Honors counterpart)
