Three hoursThis course is a study of the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal behavior and personality and the foundations of case management. The student develops a working knowledge of the diagnostic categories of the current DSM and gains an understanding of the application of diagnosis to clinical practice. Students will also examine different models and strategies of case management, with emphasis on basic interviewing and assessment strategies, case conceptualization, and treatment planning for appropriate and effective intervention strategies; and effective documentation.
