Three hoursThis course will examine effective methods for teaching reading to students with exceptionalities. The history and structure of the English language will be covered as well as techniques in teaching encoding and decoding. The course will also examine the importance of word study in the development of reading skills and how the use of multi-sensory techniques can increase reading success rates for students with exceptionalities. Field experience required.
