LS 1173 English as a Second Language I

Three hours (On Campus)

The non-native English speaker who is judged not ready for EGL 1013 is required to take LS 1173, LS 1183, and/or LS 1193. Advancement through the sequence of ESL courses is determined by the student’s score on the ESL component of the COMPASS test. If satisfactory proficiency is not achieved, a student may be required to repeat an ESL course one or more times without additional credit.
