ART 3113 Business of Film

Three hours (On Campus)

An examination of the business of cinema where students explore the role of both the assistant director and the producer in shepherding the film from project development to completion and distribution. Covers studio operations, setting up a production office, scheduling and budgeting with industry standard software, working with talent agents and unions, as well as budgets and movie financing. Negotiating contracts, copyright, and other legal aspects of the entertainment industry are also introduced. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
