BIO 1014 Fundamentals of Cell Biology

Four hours (On Campus)
This course is designed for students majoring in Nursing and Kinesiology, as well as students in other majors who intend to pursue a career in health professions other than medical school. The course focuses on cell processes relevant to health sciences, including properties of water, biological molecules, cellular structure, membrane transport, energy processing, genetics, and basic molecular biology. Laboratory exercises reinforce concepts and biological processes discussed in the lecture. Three hours lecture-discussion and one two-hour laboratory per week. This course meets the requirement for the Kinesiology and Nursing majors and the Natural Science with lab requirement of the Core Curriculum. This course does not meet the requirements for the Biology and Biochemistry majors.  An additional fee may be associated with this course.
