CS 3343 Game Design 2Three hours (On Campus) This course analyzes structural features and best practices of card/board games as well as video games - genres that all involve a lot of prior training in visual art and graphic design. The course will also emphasize aspects of game theory: strategy, interface, and reward systems for players. Since these genres involve graphics or animation, students will draw upon prior experience in 3D modeling/other visual arts, debugging, and algorithms. Students will take exams on these design principles, work on original game projects or prototypes, and write a prospectus about a game they are developing as a pitch to a publisher. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
Prerequisites: CS 1113 , ART 1123 , and either EGL 1023 or EGL 1093 Offered on campus Spring semester (odd-numbered years)
