BIO 3714 Neurobiology

Four hours (On Campus)
Neurobiology is an introduction to the field of neuroscience. It covers a broad range of topics in molecular, cellular, systems and cognitive neuroscience. The course focuses on the original experiments that led to the establishment of neurobiological theories. It also provides students with opportunities to present peer-reviewed publications and topic reviews to fellow students and design activities for the outreach of the general public. Laboratory exercises expose students to basic techniques in neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, and lower-level animal behavioral assays. Three hours lecture-discussion and one two-hour laboratory per week. Fulfills upper-level requirements for the Biology major. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
