ART 3493 History of FilmThree hours (On Campus) An exploration of the history of cinema and the elements that affect the way stories are told in film, taking us from the beginning of the silent movie era, through the development of sound, the rise of the studio system, and the factors that led to the current blockbuster era. We will be examining the influence that cinematography, direction, and editing can have on the way that a story is told and the messages it conveys.
