REL 3513 Introduction to Judaism

Three hours (On Campus)
A survey of the growth and development of Judaism from post-Biblical times to the present. The first half of the semester will cover the basics of Jewish religion and how Judaism has adapted to the various cultures in which it found itself up until the end of the Middle Ages. The second half of the semester will focus on Judaism from the early modern period up to the present. Emphasis is on primary sources, both textual and visual. Site visits to places of Jewish worship in Northwest Arkansas are a part of this class. Meets the Arts and Humanities requirement of the Core Curriculum.
