HST 3483 Africa and Asia Since 1900

Three hours (On Campus)
This course provides a survey of political, social, and economic trends in Africa and Asia since 1900. It explores major narratives such as imperialism, nationalism, decolonization, neo-liberalism, modernity, citizenship, and identity. Students investigate events and movements that contributed to dramatic changes in African and Asian societies, including genocide, world wars, independence movements, and truth and reconciliation commissions. Meets the Intercultural Engagement requirement or the Arts and Humanities requirement of the Core Curriculum (cannot meet both core requirements).​
