NUR 2021 Concepts of Nutrition and Dosage CalculationsOne hour (On Campus) This foundational course integrates key concepts of nutrition with the principles of dosage calculations which are essential for safe and effective nursing practice. Emphasizing a concept-based approach, students will explore the role of nutrition in promoting health across the lifespan, with a particular focus on evidence-based dietary strategies for preventing and managing disease. Students will also develop proficiency in calculating and administering accurate medication dosages, including oral, intravenous, and parenteral routes. Throughout the course, students will engage in critical thinking exercises and case-based scenarios to connect nutritional knowledge with pharmacological principles, preparing them for patient-centered care. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the mathematical, analytical, and clinical reasoning skills necessary for administering nutrition and medications safely and effectively in a variety of healthcare settings.
