CE 3153 Transportation Engineering

Three hours (On Campus)
This course covers the principles and practices of transportation engineering, focusing on the planning, design, operation, and management of transportation systems. Topics include highway engineering, traffic flow theory, transportation planning, traffic signal design, public transit systems, and transportation safety. Students will analyze traffic patterns, roadway design elements, and the impact of transportation infrastructure on communities and the environment. The course emphasizes the use of modern tools for traffic analysis, simulation, and transportation planning, alongside case studies of urban and rural transportation projects. Laboratory exercises and field studies provide hands-on experience in traffic data collection and analysis. This course prepares students for careers in civil engineering with a focus on transportation systems and urban planning. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
