ED 3563 Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition

Three hours (On Campus)
This course is a study of major theories in second language acquisition, emphasizing contrastive principles of first and second language development. Special attention is given to second language acquisition implications in K-12 classrooms with culturally and linguistically diverse learners. Candidates are introduced to the dynamics of the educational process and to the social, cultural, and economic considerations that affect second language development. Clinical experience is required.
