NUR 2134 Informatics, Inquiry, and Evidence-Based Practice

Four hours (On Campus)
A study of technologies and information systems used by professional nurses in various healthcare settings. Emphasizes the use of these systems to improve safety and quality outcomes. This course also includes an overview of the research process through a comparative analysis of selected studies exemplifying various theoretical, methodological, and analytical approaches. Students acquire the basic competencies to critically read, evaluate, and interpret nursing research studies for their appropriateness while investigating various practice-based problems.

Prerequisites: EGL 1013 EGL 1023 ; NUR 2113 ; BUS 2193 , MTH 1003 , MTH 2103 , or PSY 2383
