BIOAS 3894 Mammalogy

Four hours (Au Sable)
This field-based course introduces students to the biology, ecology, and conservation of mammals, with a focus on species native to the Great Lakes region. Students will gain hands-on experience with field methods used in wildlife monitoring and mammal research, including live trapping, acoustic monitoring, and track and sign identification.   Emphasis is placed on connecting field skills with ecological principles and applied conservation questions. The course also integrates discussions of Christian stewardship and ethical considerations in mammal research and conservation. Offered at Au Sable - Great Lakes in Michigan during summer. Corresponds to Au Sable Biol 333 course.
