CHM 4183 Biochemistry II

Three hours (On Campus)
A continuation of the study of macromolecular and metabolic biochemistry with an emphasis on the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. Topics also include an introduction to nucleic acids and the molecules involved in heredity. The chemical basis for biological phenomena, bioenergetics, and metabolic regulation is stressed. Three hours lecture-discussion per week.

Prerequisite: CHM 4173
