CE 3141 Civil Engineering Estimating

One hour (On Campus)
This course introduces the principles and techniques of cost estimating in civil engineering projects. Students will learn how to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead. Topics include quantity takeoffs, unit pricing, cost control, bidding strategies, and the use of estimating software. Emphasis is placed on practical applications in real-world civil engineering projects, such as roads, bridges, and buildings. Students will complete hands-on estimating exercises and case studies to develop their skills in budgeting, project planning, and financial management. This course prepares students for careers in civil engineering, construction management, and project planning. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
