BIO 2334 Fundamentals of MicrobiologyFour hours An introduction to the principles of microbiology with an emphasis on microorganisms that are important for health and disease in humans. Topics will include structure, function, metabolism, pathology, epidemiology, and diagnostic procedures for identification. Methods for prevention and control of microbial disease will be covered along with a basic understanding of the immune system. This course will not fulfill requirements for the Biology major or minor. Three hours lecture/discussion and one two-hour laboratory per week. An additional fee associated with this course.
Prerequisite: BIO 1124 Offered spring semester
