ART 3123 Business and Practice of Photography

Three hours
An examination of the business of photography where students explore the role of the entrepreneur in operating a private business for longevity and profit. Covers photographic equipment, studio operations, setting up an office, working with talent agents and unions, as well as budgets, taxes, and financing. Negotiating contracts, copyright, and other legal aspects of the photo industry are also introduced.

Prerequisite: ART 2413
