Student Learning Outcomes:
The Department of Communication has identified the following seven student learning outcomes:
- Students will be able to think clearly, critically, and creatively in response to communication problems.
- Students will express ideas in oral, written, and mediated messages that are coherent, persuasive, and ethical.
- Students will demonstrate the communication skills necessary to engage in personal, professional, civic, and social relationships.
- Students will adapt oral, visual, written, and mediated messages to diverse audiences across multiple platforms.
- Students will analyze and evaluate verbal and nonverbal messages in differing social, political, and cultural contexts in order to assess their effectiveness.
- Students will use current technology related to the communication field.
- Students will work productively in groups and teams on a range of communication projects.
