The M.Ed. in Education Studies allows licensed teachers the opportunity to complete 30 hours of course work to add endorsement areas to their Arkansas teaching license. The endorsement options available are Special Education, Online Teaching, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Two endorsement areas are required.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will apply knowledge of the content related to their endorsement area (SPED, TESOL and/or Online Teaching) to their classroom.
- Students will apply knowledge of pedagogy related to their endorsement area (SPED, TESOL and/or Online Teaching) to their classroom.
- Students will develop curriculum appropriate for the diversity represented in their classroom.
Requirements for the Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Education Studies

Required Course - 3 hours
Choose two of the following cores - 24-27 hours
SPED Core
Special Education Core course requirements ESOL Core
ESOL Core course requirements Online Teaching Core
Online Teaching Core course requirements Additional hours as necessary to meet the minimum semester hours
SPED and ESOL options taken together will require this additional course to meet the 30-hour minimum.
