Cybersecurity, B.A.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will be able to demonstrate foundational knowledge in cybersecurity.
  2. Students will be able to demonstrate technical configuration skills and secure infrastructure design knowledge relevant to the contemporary cybersecurity field.
  3. Students will be able to anticipate, identify, and resolve moral and ethical dilemmas through their understanding and application of the Christian worldview.

Note that the six required CYB courses (CYB 3043 , CYB 3103 , CYB 3113 , CYB 3133 , CYB 3233 , and CYB 4104 ) and one of the elective CYB courses (CYB 2033 ) are offered online through consortial agreement with Bluefield University (Bluefield, VA). There are no additional costs for these courses above and beyond the standard JBU tuition and fees.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with major in Cybersecurity

University Core Curriculum - 36 hours


Program requirements satisfy 12 of the 48 hours in the Core Curriculum.

  • The Intercultural Engagement elective area is satisfied by INT 4103 .
  • The Mathematics elective area is satisfied by one of the following: BUS 2193 MTH 2103 , or PSY 2383 .
  • Six hours of the Social and Behavior Sciences elective area are satisfied by PSY 1013  and PSY 3423 .
