Biblical and Theological Studies, B.S.



The major in Biblical and Theological Studies provides students with rigorous training in biblical studies, theology, church history, and related disciplines. While the major prepares students for vocational ministry or further studies in seminary or graduate school, it also provides those pursuing other careers with an integrated program of learning emphasizing skills in the study and critical analysis of texts and ideas, focusing on scripture and the Christian tradition.  

Student Learning Outcomes: 

1. Students will be able to use biblical languages for exegetical and homiletic purposes.

2. Students will be able to articulate the scriptural, historical, and philosophical foundations of Christian theology using the theological tools of reason, analogy, imagination, and experience.

3. Students will be able to understand and articulate significant portions of Christianity’s historical narrative.

4. Students will be able to understand the Bible in its literary, historical, and theological contexts.

 

Requirements for the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with major in Biblical and Theological Studies
