Student Learning Outcomes
The Department of Teacher Education, in keeping with the overall goals of the university, expects graduates to demonstrate the following broad learner outcomes:
- Candidates will apply principles of learner development and learning differences to create safe, supportive learning environments in order to work effectively with diverse families in P-12 schools.
- Candidates will apply knowledge of content to developing equitable and inclusive learning experiences.
- Candidates will apply InTASC standards to assessments, plans for instruction, and instructional strategies to provide equitable and inclusive learning for P-12 students.
- Candidates will apply knowledge of professional responsibility to engage in professional learning, act ethically, and work effectively with P-12 students.

University Core Curriculum - 33 hours
Program Requirements satisfy 15 of the 48 hours in the Core Curriculum. - The Intercultural Engagement elective area is satisfied by ED 2033 .
- The Mathematics elective area is satisfied by MTH 1163 .
- The six hours of the Natural Science elective area, including the lab requirement, are satisfied by two of the following: BIO 1123 (with lab BIO 1121 ), CHM 1123 (with lab CHM 1121 ), PHY 1113 (with lab PHY 1111 ).
- The Social and Behavioral Sciences elective area is satisfied by ED 2143 .
Core Curriculum Courses Professional Education - 46 hours
