A minor in Civil Engineering offers a focused exploration of foundational principles in infrastructure design and management. Civil Engineers are professionals who design, construct, and maintain infrastructure projects in the public and private sector, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, bridges, and utility systems. Through coursework covering areas such as surveying, structural analysis, and engineering materials, students gain a comprehensive understanding of interdisciplinary concepts crucial for infrastructure projects. Hands-on experiences in labs and design projects enable students to develop practical skills and critical thinking applicable to civil engineering. Upon completion, the minor will position graduates to manage civil construction projects for large contractors, design firms, or government agencies, providing valuable perspectives for future careers in the field.
