The Kinesiology program offers an emphasis in Sports Medicine or Health and Wellness. The baccalaureate curriculum can lead to entry into professional degree programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, as well as graduate studies in exercise physiology, teaching, and other related fields. Students are also prepared to conduct individual exercise programs and fitness testing. Student Learning Outcomes- Students will demonstrate core knowledge expected within the related Kinesiology fields.
- Students will design, implement, and evaluate programs for wellness, health, and physical fitness assessments.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of cognitive subject matter as described in the clinical proficiencies section in the Athletic Training Education Competencies, 5th edition.
- Students will incorporate decision making, skill application, and attitudes/values consistent within the framework of the psychomotor and affective domain as described in the Athletic Training Education Competencies, 5th edition.
Requirements for the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with major in Kinesiology

University Core Curriculum - 39 or 43 hours
Program requirements satisfy 5 (for Health and Wellness Emphasis) or 9 (for Sports Medicine Emphasis) of the 48 hours in the Core Curriculum. - The Whole Person Wellness elective is satisfied by KIN 1002 .
- Three hours of the Social and Behavioral Sciences elective area are satisfied by PSY 1013 .
- Three hours of the Natural Science elective area, including the lab requirement, are satisfied by BIO 1013 for the Sports Medicine Emphasis.
Kinesiology Major Core - 24 hours

This academic program requires 33-34 elective credits (depending upon professional emphasis choice). Under federal regulations, financial aid is generally limited to course work that applies to your declared program of study. Courses outside your program requirements, including excess electives, may not be eligible for financial aid. Adding a double major, double degree, minor(s), specialization(s), an Accelerated Master’s Program, or making other changes, may impact the number of elective credits that will be covered by financial aid. Please review your degree plan and consult with your academic advisor prior to registering for any course that is not required for your program of study.
