BIO 1124 Cell BiologyFour hours This course is an introduction to the study of living systems, beginning with the molecules of life and progressing to the cellular level of organization. Students are exposed to numerous topics including the nature of science, experimental design and inquiry, biochemistry, cell structure, energy processing, genetics, molecular biology, and the integration of the Christian faith and science. Laboratory exercises reinforce concepts and biological processes discussed in the lecture. This course is particularly designed for students majoring in Biology, Biochemistry, Nursing, or Kinesiology. Three hours lecture-discussion and one two-hour laboratory per week. Meets the Natural Science requirement of the Core Curriculum. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
