Data Science Minor

Computer Science major students with a Business Analytics or a Marketing Analytics emphasis, and Data Analytics major students are not eligible for this minor.

Requirements for minor in Data Science - 21 hours

CS 1113 Introduction to Computing
CS 2233 Object-Oriented Programming
CS 3243 Data Structures
DAT 3113 Basic Data Analytics

Three hours from the following:

MTH 1123 Survey of Calculus
MTH 1134 Calculus I

Electives - 6 hours

Computer Science major students must choose DAT courses, and CS 3363 cannot be double-counted for the minor in Computer Science.

Two of the following:

CS 3363 Database Design
DAT 4253 Business Decision Modeling & Predictive Analysis
DAT 4313 Data Visualization
