Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to apply advanced technical skills in camera operation, lighting, and editing to create photographs that are consistent with industry expectations.
- Students will be able to understand the expectations of the professional photography market including the legal and ethical guidelines and apply their goals and values to their individual plan.
- Students will be able to create original photographic portfolios that integrate conceptual thinking, aesthetic principles, personal expression, and defend their effectiveness in communicating intended meaning.
Requirements for the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with major in Photography

University Core Curriculum - 42 hours
Program requirements satisfy 6 of the 48 hours in the Core Curriculum. - Three hours of the Arts and Humanities elective area are satisfied by ART 3563 .
- Another three hours of the Arts and Humanities elective area are satisfied by one of the following: ART 2163 , ART 2233 .
Visual Arts Department Core - 10 hours
Photography Core - 42 hours
