CM 3233 Structural Systems for BuildingsThree hours (On Campus) A study of the design of steel structural elements typically found in buildings and a consideration of steel erection procedures. Also the study of the design and control of concrete mixtures, the design of simple reinforced concrete structural elements, and the study of basic temporary structures (shoring, scaffolding, formwork) that will be encountered on typical construction projects. Two hours lecture-discussion and one two-hour laboratory period per week. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
Prerequisite: CM 2322 or ME 3313 Corequisite: CM 3233L Offered on campus Spring semester
