ED 3563 Second Language Acquisition for TeachersThree hours (On Campus) A study of major theories in second language acquisition, with emphasis on contrastive principles of first and second language development. Special attention is given to second language acquisition implications in K-12 classrooms with culturally and linguistically diverse learners. Candidates are introduced to the dynamics of the educational process and the social, cultural, economic considerations, which affect second language development. Field experience required.
