NUR 3115 Foundations of Professional Nursing Practice

Five hours (On Campus)
Application of foundational health care and nursing concepts using selected exemplars. Emphasis is placed on socializing the student as an active, developing professional within the context and dimensions of the discipline. Clinical experiences within the community hospital and other selected community agencies emphasize development of psychomotor skills and clinical reasoning in the beginning nurse and continuity of care across settings. Three classroom hours per week and a total of 80 simulation and/or clinical hours.

Prerequisite: admission into the Nursing major
Corequisites: NUR 3112 , NUR 3124 , and NUR 3115L
