ART 3203 Design History

Three hours (On Campus)
A survey of key movements, trends, people, and innovations throughout the history of design. The course work emphasizes graphic design while advertising, applied arts, industrial design, and architecture are also explored. Students participate in a series of graphic design projects that emulate historic concepts and styles. The assignments also incorporate a unique weekly challenge selected to prepare students for an array of professional experiences. Studying and practicing foundational design will solidify students’ own creative foundations for success in numerous creative fields. Meets the Arts and Humanities requirement of the Core Curriculum.
