The major in Outdoor Leadership Ministries is designed to produce outdoor ministry educators and leaders equipped with sound judgment, appropriate technical ability, and effective teaching and facilitation competencies to create safe outdoor learning environments in which to nurture spiritual formation. Ministry opportunities include both national and international settings as camp program directors, wilderness guides and instructors, experiential learning and challenge course facilitators, outdoor educators, conference, and retreat programmers and leaders for children-, youth-, and family-serving organizations such as YMCA, Campfire, Scouting, and Young Life. Opportunities to earn certifications in Wilderness First Responder, Challenge Course Instructor, Kayaking, Canoeing, Swift Water Rescue, and Target Sports are incorporated into the curriculum. Student Learning Outcomes- Develop technically competent outdoor and experiential learning professionals
- Develop leaders who are willing to take initiative, be responsible and appropriately influence others from an orientation of humility, generosity, and maturity.
- Foster intentional persons of faith who use their gifts to serve others out of the love they have received from God.

University Core Curriculum - 42 hours
Program requirements satisfy 6 of the 48 hours in the Core Curriculum. - Three hours of the Arts and Humanities elective area are satisfied by one of the following: BBL 3413 , BBL 3423 , BBL 3433 , BBL 3443 , BBL 3453 , BBL 3463 , BBL 3473 , BBL 3613 , BBL 3623 , BBL 3633 , BBL 3663 .
- Three hours of the Social and Behavioral Sciences elective area are satisfied by FAM 4443 .
Core Curriculum Courses Courses Specified by the Department - 9 hours
One of the following:
An Old or New Testament Book Study Course
Required Major Field Courses - 35 hours
Supporting Courses: Skill Certifications - 3 hours
Three hours from the following: Internship - 12 hours
