Student learning outcomes:

  • Students will understand a biblical/theological approach to human services, illustrating truths found in Matthew 22: 37-40.
  • Students will be capable of serving in professional helping positions.
  • Students will be able to analyze, conduct, and present research relevant to the human services field of study.
  • Students will develop the personal characteristics and skills of empathy, authenticity, and differentiation in order to promote holistic self-awareness and other awareness.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with major in Family and Human Services

University Core Curriculum - 36 hours


Program requirements satisfy 12 of the 48 hours in the Core Curriculum.

  

Emphasis Option - 9 hours


Students may choose to add a minor or emphasis of their choice to their degree. Students may choose an emphasis by selecting nine unique hours from one of the following. Students who do not select a minor or emphasis will fill their non-major requirements with electives. Students should consult with their advisor regarding these options.

Counseling


9 hours of graduate course work required (maximum 12 hours allowed and hours count toward both undergraduate Family and Human Services degree and graduate Counseling degree) chosen from among the following options:
