The finance degree provides students with an understanding of basic financial management techniques as well as a broad overview of financial planning and portfolio analysis. The purpose is to provide students with knowledge helpful for working toward financial certifications such as the Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP)Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and entry-level jobs in financial planning, banking, and corporate finance. Click on the links for more information about certification requirements.

The baccalaureate program in Finance requires 120 minimum total semester hours including courses from four categories: (1) the Core Curriculum, (2) the Business Division Core, (3) the Finance Core, and (4) a minor field of study or electives sufficient to achieve the required minimum total hours.

Students majoring in programs outside of the College of Business may choose Finance as a minor field of study.

Students must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 2.25 in all College of Business course work and in each minor.
