Student Learning OutcomesStudents graduating with a major in Spanish will: - Demonstrate skill in listening, reading, speaking, and writing in the Spanish language.
- Be autonomous language learners who can use resources such as dictionaries to extend their language proficiency.
- Appreciate the diversity of populations who speak the Spanish language.
- Succeed in multilingual settings after graduation from JBU.

University Core Curriculum - 42 hours
Program requirements satisfy 6 of the 48 hours in the Core Curriculum.
- The Intercultural Engagement elective area is satisfied by LS 4113 .
- Three hours of the Social and Behavioral Sciences elective area are satisfied by LS 2173 .
Courses Specified by the Department - 21 hours
One of the following options
Semester in Spain (Seville) - 16 hours
Recommended during the student’s junior year. Eight hours from the following
Latin American Studies Program (Costa Rica) - 15 hours
Recommended during the student’s junior year.
